Executive summary · as of 06:02 UTC
The situation
This window brought no new CISA KEV additions, but it carried a heavy WordPress vulnerability load and continued fallout from identity and extortion activity. NVD published 206 entries and our WordPress feeds 98. The most urgent issues are a CVSS 10.0 unauthenticated RCE in the SiteVault backup plugin (CVE-2026-42696), unauthenticated authentication bypass and code injection in Wukong_HRM (CVE-2026-108707) and Floci (CVE-2026-108598), and arbitrary file upload flaws in Creator LMS and CodeBard Help Desk. A large batch of unauthenticated PHP Object Injection flaws, all CVSS 9.8, affects roughly 30 commercial WordPress themes plus Booster for WooCommerce and the Payever gateway. Organisations running WordPress should inventory these themes and plugins and prioritise patching or removal.
On the threat-actor front, the FBI arrested Canadian cybersecurity executive Edward Dubrovsky in a case linked to the ShinyHunters crackdown and the FBI Jobs hack. Reporting also attributes this month's attacks on South Korean banks to a Chinese operator using the ARTEX AI pentest suite and Claude agents, another marker of AI-assisted offensive operations. Denmark's CPR register breach was traced in part to accounts at a supplier, including an administrator account, that used the password '123456'. This underscores the need for credential hygiene and MFA across third-party IT providers.
Ransomware leak sites listed 13 new victims. They include Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg (INC Ransom), DexCom (Redact), the Royal Thai Air Force (The Gentlemen) and law firm Gress Clark Young & Schoepper (Rhysida, ~166 GB including SSNs and banking data). Qilin was the most active group, with five postings. abuse.ch recorded 1,166 new indicators across 101 families. Mirai and Mozi IoT botnets dominated, alongside VShell, Vidar, ClickFix/ClearFake web lures, Cobalt Strike and the AMOS macOS stealer.
